All of our hardware, be it buckles, keepers or half check chains have three things in common. 

• They are made from a solid metal, be it brass, stainless steel, nickel or sterling silver. Unlike the vast majority of our competitors we never use plated fittings that inevitably rust or the plating rubs off over time.
  
• They are all sourced from Walsall or Birmingham in England. That is they are designed with centuries of experience of how to create items that are beautiful, functional and strong.
• They are over engineered for the purpose intended. The construction of all the items has been battle tested in the horse world and the designs have been proven to be more than strong enough to last in that world. As a consequence the fittings will last nearly indefinitley in the applications in which we use them.

All of our belt buckles (with the exception of the Roller buckle) go through a multi stage hand re-polishing process on delivery to us from our suppliers (one of the last remaining manufacturers of buckles in the UK) that produces either an exceptionally high gloss finish or a satin finish, depeding on requirements, which is then protected by a coating of hard wax used more normally for the conservation of museum art works.

 
The majority of the bucles that we use are actually harness buckles of a design that is centuries old. Our stock bucles are

• Stirrup Buckle

The brass and nickel versions of these designs are sand cast in the traditional manner in Walsall, as our all our brass belt loops. The Stainless Steel buckles are produced using the lost wax method of casting. Our Sterling Silver buckles are cast exclusively for us to our patterns in the jewellery quarter of Birmingham and are then finished entirely in house by our craftsman before being hallmarked at Goldsmiths Assay Office in London to prove their purity and intrinsic value.
