The Equus Minimal Briefcase

The Minimal briefcase takes the work and design inspiration from the full sized Equus Briefcase and shrinks it to a set of proportions more suitable for someone who wants to travel a bit lighter. Still able to take a 15" Macbook Pro, but smaller in each dimension and therefore also lighter. Of course as with all Equus products the case is entirely handmade, fully handstitched, made using the finest English bridle leathers in the world and above all made with to a standard of workmanship not to a price. The design draws heavily on our English saddlery background and our love for Edwardian and Victorian leathergoods, and our design objective was to make a case that would last generations.

Available in a variety of configurations to suit a variety of tasks, the Minimal comes by default with a single compartment but can be subdivided in to two, have an internal pocket and external newspaper pocket, just the Newspaper pocket, or none at all. Of course we're happy to accept requests for other configurations as you desire. The case includes a leather shoulder strap and dust bag.

These cases are traditionally made from unlined bridle leather to keep down weight so we use oak bark tanned bridle leather from J & F J Baker in London Tan (probably the most traditional colour and configuration available), Oak Brown, Australian Nut, Dark Havanna or Black. Bakers are based in Devon, England and are the best in the world at what they do, we have worked with them for decades so we have no hesitation using their leathers. All of the fittings for the case are sourced from our Walsall (England) based foundry who had made the locks for many of the vintage cases we original looked at for inspiration, and are still producing the finest solid brass locks to this day.
The Minimal is 15" (c. 38cm) wide x 11" (c. 28cm) high x 3 1/2" (c. 9cm) deep
