Bespoke Three Day Course
Your Bespoke Three Day Training Course with Charlie
This is your chance to spend three days working with Charlie and learning all manner of techniques and skills to ultimately enable you to go away with the knowledge to create your own leathergoods.
The course is entirely created around what you would like to do, make and learn. Whether it is to create your own watch strap, wallet or something else, you will be able to talk directly in advance with Charlie to work out exactly how you'd like to spend your time.
The course fee includes:
> FaceTime / Zoom / Telephone consultation with Charlie in advance of your course to discuss your aims and to finalise the details of what you will be doing.
> All leathers (excluding exotics) / threads / use of all tools for your bespoke item.
> Lunch and refreshments each day.
> 9.30am - 5pm with a break for lunch, determined by you.
> Exclusive behind the scenes look at what makes Equus tick, upcoming products and a good nose through our extensive collection of leathers.
Our workshop is nestled in the glorious grounds of a Grade II* listed Elizabethean Manor House in the heart of Teesdale in County Durham. There is no better venue to learn the traditional skills of leathercraft.
There are a good number of B&Bs, hotels and Guest Houses in the Barnard Castle area that we can direct you to.
To quote a previous trainee
"My experience training with Charlie was more than I could have ever hoped for. The first day of instruction saved me YEARS of trial and error. He stayed my by side the entire week and watched every stitch I did. By doing that he was able to catch little mistakes I was making and correct them before they turned into a problem. I now officially can see if a stitch is going to go wrong before it even happens, and I know how to fix it.
The workshop was a perfect place to learn! We had quiet one on one training with no distractions. The countryside that the workshop resides in is gorgeous. This wasn’t just a training for me, it was an incredible life experience. If you are on the fence, don’t hesitate! It’s worth your time and money!"
We appreciate that the course is not cheap. However, you are gaining something incredibly special, which is time. Time with Charlie and time to yourself in order to learn a new skill, or to brush up on current skills. Learning from a time served craftsman will also save you a lot of wasted time, leather and frustration trying to work out how things are done from YouTube videos! There are 2 ways to pay for your course. You can pay a 50% deposit at the time of booking which secures your dates and closes them off to anyone else, with the rest of the fee is due no later than two weeks before your course is due to start.
