Our Alligator watch straps, in common with all our watch straps, are entirely hand stitched and hand made and are available in a huge variety of width and lengths. If you don't see the size or widths you need we can help, please just get in touch. Each strap is made not only with the finest Alligator, but also the finest lining leathers, either fully vegetable tanned calf, or the technically excellent hypoallergenic and water resistant Zermatt and Alsavel calf linings to ensure the strap is not only comfortable, but also made to last. The interior of the strap is also of crucial importance - virtually all straps feature cardboard or similar materials internally to give the strap body and shape - we only use sculpted leather throughout, the interior of our straps will age as well as the exterior, though you will never see it. We use Lin Cable linen thread to stitch the straps, renowned as the highest quality linen thread and available in nearly 30 colours to match or contrast with nearly any outer leather, watch face, case or hand combination. To finish off the strap we can supply them with spring bars, quick release or regular and either with a buckle or made to work around your existing buckle or deployant.
Alligator is a CITES listed species so commercial use of the skins is strictly controlled and as well as buying the finest quality we of course make sure all our skins are sourced in compliance with the regulations. As a result, currently within the EU we simply need to ship straps with a copy of the paperwork of the skin proving its provenance and source.
For customers outside of the EU we are able to apply for correct CITES permits for your strap for a small fee, ensuring your strap complies with all of the relevant laws, won't cause customs hassle and maintains its resale value if you rotate your watch or strap collection.
As proponents of ethical and transparent sourcing and sustainable use of leather we don't just comply with the regulations to make sure your strap sales through Customs, it also means a strap can be traced back from you, its owner, via us as strap maker, back to its originating tannery and where the skin was harvested. As far as possible all of our skins are from wild caught animals taken as part of population control measures in Louisiana - we prefer both the character and ethics of wild skins.
